This bill amends Section 39G of Chapter 30 of the General Laws to mandate a 30-day period for approving or rejecting requests for price increases in public construction contracts. The time period can be extended by up to 7 days for each tier of contract below the owner. If a request is not approved or rejected within this period, it is deemed approved. The bill also requires written rejections to include an explanation and be subject to dispute resolution procedures.
