Massachusetts S2137 amends the General Laws to exclude woody biomass fuel from being considered an alternative energy supply for intermediate or large generation units. This change does not apply to biomass facilities already qualified as alternative energy units by the Department of Energy Resources as of January 1, 2023. The act takes effect immediately upon passage.
