S.2077

Relative to tax credits for affordable housing

Introduced·2/27/25
Introduced Text

Massachusetts S2077 mandates green building certification for LIHTC-funded housing projects.

Massachusetts S2077 requires new construction or major rehabilitation of Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) funded housing to earn green building certification. This certification must be from the U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED system or other equally rigorous systems. The Executive Office of Housing and Liveable Communities must update its Qualified Allocation Plan (QAP) to include these requirements and make post-occupancy energy and water efficiency analyses public.
