S.2059

Establishing a tax credit for families caring for relatives with aphasia

Introduced·2/27/25
Introduced Text

Massachusetts S2059 creates a tax credit for families caring for relatives with aphasia.

Massachusetts S2059 amends the state's tax code to allow a $1,000 credit for taxpayers who have provided more than half the support for a relative diagnosed with aphasia and who have had the relative reside with them for over six months during the taxable year. If the credit exceeds the tax due, the taxpayer is entitled to a refund for the excess amount. This bill targets families who care for relatives with aphasia, providing financial relief for their caregiving expenses.
