Provides flags to next of kin of police officers or firefighters killed in the line of duty in Massachusetts.
This bill amends the General Laws of Massachusetts to provide the next of kin of a police officer or firefighter killed in the line of duty with the flags of the Commonwealth and the United States during the memorial service. The cost of the flags is to be borne by the Commonwealth. This applies to officers or firefighters who are killed, die from injuries received, or die as a natural or proximate result of a hazard peculiar to their employment while performing their duties.
