Final Passage·2/26/26
Introduced Text

Authorizes the appointment of retired police officers to perform police details in Plainville, Massachusetts.

This bill allows the town of Plainville to appoint retired police officers as special police officers to perform police details. These officers must pass a medical examination and comply with training requirements. They have the same powers as regular police officers but are not eligible for certain benefits. Appointments are annual and can be terminated by the chief of police. The bill exempts these officers from certain state laws and age restrictions but imposes other limitations.
