Massachusetts S1866 amends the definition of Group 4 in paragraph (g) of section 3 of chapter 32 to expand eligibility for retirement benefits. The bill specifies that employees of municipal gas or electric generating or distribution plants who are linemen or line workers, electric switchboard operators, electric maintenance workers, substation technicians, meter installers, steam engineers, boiler operators, firemen or firefighters, oilers, mechanical maintenance workers, and supervisors of these employees, including managers and assistant managers, are eligible for Group 4 retirement.
