Allows veterans who missed the 180-day window to buy back service time a one-time opportunity to do so.
This bill amends the Massachusetts General Laws to provide a one-time opportunity for veterans who failed to make the retirement buyback purchase within the required 180 days to apply to the retirement system to make the purchase within one year from the effective date of this act. The retirement system must also provide written notice to all members in service of their potential eligibility for this purchase within 90 days of the effective date of this act.
