Massachusetts S1645 creates a presumption that post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) diagnosed in certain public safety workers was suffered in the line of duty. This presumption applies to full-time uniformed members of police, fire, and emergency medical services, state police, and public works police, as well as employees in the Department of Correction and county mental health facilities who provide mental health care. It also applies to airport crash crew and military fire department members.
