Massachusetts S1531 amends the General Laws to prohibit the sale of competitive foods containing harmful food dyes on public school grounds from the midnight before to 30 minutes after the end of the school day. The affected dyes include Blue 1, Blue 2, Green 3, Red 3, Red 40, Yellow 5, and Yellow 6. Schools may still sell these items off-premises, after school hours, or at fundraisers. The changes take effect on December 31, 2028.
