Amends Massachusetts paid family medical leave law to redefine covered business entities and contract workers.
This bill amends the Massachusetts paid family medical leave law by changing the definitions of "covered business entity" and "covered contract worker." A "covered business entity" is now defined as a business or trade whose workforce is comprised of 50 percent or more individuals that it contracts with or receives services from who are not employees. A "covered contract worker" is defined as an individual who is not an employee under the test set forth in section 2 of chapter 151A of the General Laws and for whom an employer or covered business entity is required to remit contributions to.
