Creating a law enforcement officer safety zone after warning

Establishes a safety zone around law enforcement officers after a warning.

This bill amends Mass General Laws by adding a new section that prohibits individuals from approaching within twenty-five feet of a law enforcement officer who has ordered them to stop or retreat. Violation of this section is considered a breach of the peace and carries a penalty of a fine up to five hundred dollars or imprisonment for up to one year. The term "law enforcement officer" includes all individuals defined under MGL chapter 6E section 1.
