Massachusetts S1266 requires the Department of Mental Health, in collaboration with the Department of Education, to study pediatric and adolescent psychiatric hospital settings and therapeutic day schools for children with pediatric autoimmune neuropsychiatric disorders associated with streptococcal infections and pediatric acute-onset neuropsychiatric syndrome. The study will identify the prevalence of these conditions, interview previously misdiagnosed children and families, and report findings to relevant committees by December 31, 2023.
