Increases the personal care allowance for long term care residents in Massachusetts.
This bill increases the personal care allowance for long term care residents in Massachusetts from $60 to $100 per month. Residents in licensed nursing facilities, chronic hospitals, rest homes, public medical institutions, or psychiatric institutions who are not maintaining their own home will retain the first $100 of their monthly income for clothing, personal needs, and leisure time activities. If their income is less than $100, they will be paid the difference. The allowance will increase annually at the same rate as increases for individuals maintaining their own home.
