Maintains parity in legal services for small property owners in Massachusetts.
This bill amends Chapter 221A of the General Laws to ensure parity in legal services for small property owners. It defines "qualified small business land owner" as a landowner owning three or fewer properties with an annual income below guidelines set by the Board or properties falling within the Loan to Value guideline ratios established by the Board. The Massachusetts Legal Assistance Corporation will provide financial assistance to both local and statewide programs, with at least 80% distributed to local programs based on the number of eligible clients.
