Massachusetts H967 bans retail sale of dogs, cats, and rabbits in new pet shops.

Massachusetts H967 prohibits new pet shops from selling dogs, cats, and rabbits. Existing pet shops can continue selling these animals if they meet specific conditions. Pet shops can still offer space for animal rescues or shelters to showcase animals for adoption. Violations of this ban are subject to civil penalties. The law takes effect on January 1, 2027.
