The bill establishes the board of registration of hazardous waste site cleanup professionals within the executive office of environmental affairs. The board consists of 11 members, including the commissioner of the department or a designee, a chair, and 10 appointed members. Three members must be hazardous waste site cleanup professionals, and the governor can appoint an alternate to ensure three active professionals serve on the board. Members serve without compensation and for no more than one 4-year term, with the possibility of serving as an alternate or for a partial term.
