H878

Relative to public information requests

Introduced·2/27/25
Introduced Text

Massachusetts H878 mandates that voter lists be public records, accessible to the state secretary and subject to public information requests.

Massachusetts H878 amends existing laws to require registrars to provide copies of specially qualified voter lists, voting lists, and absentee voting lists to the state secretary. These lists become public records, and the state secretary must respond to any requests for inspection or copies of these lists, following the guidelines in chapter 66. This change aims to increase transparency and accessibility of voter information.
