H859

To consolidate ballot request notifications

Introduced·2/27/25
Introduced Text

Massachusetts H859 consolidates annual ballot request notifications to all registered voters.

Massachusetts H859 mandates the Secretary of the Commonwealth to send an annual mailing to all registered voters by February 15. This mailing will include information on requesting mail-in or absentee ballots for any election scheduled during that year and instructions for submitting a ballot request online, by phone, or by mail. The bill prohibits the Secretary from sending additional mailings related to ballot requests for individual elections during that calendar year unless required by federal law. The act takes effect immediately upon passage.
