The bill authorizes a special election in Methuen to fill a vacancy in the Office of Mayor. The election must be held no later than December 14, 2024, and at least 64 days after it is called. The number of signatures required to place a candidate on the ballot is set at 150. The election will follow all other provisions of the city charter and applicable laws, except as specified in this act.
