The bill establishes a commission to study and draft policies to combat the financial abuse of elders in Massachusetts. The commission will study the economic impact and mechanisms of financial abuse on those over age 60, lending and refinancing practices targeting elderly customers, exploitative transfers of property, fraudulent schemes, and other forms of elder financial abuse. The commission will file a report with policy recommendations by December 31, 2026.
