Massachusetts H5538 authorizes Salem to raise short-term rental fees for school and municipal facilities.

Massachusetts H5538 allows the city of Salem to increase the short-term rental community impact fee to up to 6% of the total rent for each occupancy. The additional revenue from the 3% increase will be deposited into a special revenue fund for school and municipal facilities. The fund will be used for planning, design, acquisition, construction, renovation, repair, improvement, furnishing, equipping, maintenance, and extraordinary maintenance of school or municipal buildings and facilities.
