Introduced·6/8/26
Introduced Text

Massachusetts H5507 allows Adams Fire District firefighters to serve past age 65 if deemed mentally and physically capable.

Massachusetts H5507 permits firefighters, volunteer firefighters, and fire engineers in the Adams Fire District to continue serving past the age of 65, provided they are deemed mentally and physically capable by an impartial physician. The bill also ensures that no deductions are made from their regular compensation for service performed after age 65 for retirement or pension purposes. If a member of the retirement system, they will receive a superannuation retirement allowance equal to what they would have received had they retired at age 65.
