Allows tenants in common to petition for condominium conversion of two-unit buildings.
This bill amends Chapter 183A of the General Laws to allow tenants in common to petition the land court for condominium conversion of two-unit buildings. If no agreement governs the partition or conversion, a tenant in common can request the court to order the property into condominium form of ownership. The court may impose conditions such as utility easements and maintenance of common structures. Upon court order, unit owners must record a master deed.
