Massachusetts H5289 amends existing law to allow the town of Norwood to appoint retired police officers as special police officers. These officers must have retired in good standing from a Massachusetts community based on superannuation. They must also maintain certification and good standing with the Massachusetts Peace Officer Standards and Training Commission and comply with all annual in-service and other training requirements mandated by the municipal police training committee.
