Relative to rail-trail construction

Introduced·2/27/25
Introduced Text

Massachusetts H497 allows nonprofit organizations to apply for rail-trail construction project grants.

Massachusetts H497 amends Section 3I of Chapter 23A of the General Laws to authorize nonprofit organizations to apply for rail-trail construction project grants. Previously, only municipalities were eligible to apply. This change expands the eligibility to include nonprofit organizations, potentially increasing the number of rail-trail projects that can be funded and developed.
