The bill amends the operations of the city of Boston Finance Commission to establish the Boston Inspector General Oversight Commission. The Commission will appoint an Inspector General to investigate city operations, including finances, contracts, and services. The Inspector General will have subpoena power and must report annually to the City Council. The Commission will consist of five members appointed by the Governor, each serving staggered five-year terms.
