The bill amends Massachusetts law to allow local licensing authorities in cities or towns that vote to authorize it to grant temporary licenses for the sale of alcoholic beverages at auctions to nonprofit charitable corporations. These temporary licenses are valid for up to 10 consecutive days and can be issued up to twice a year. Alcoholic beverages sold under these licenses must be donated at no charge to the license holder, and a majority of the proceeds must be used for the charitable purposes of the license holder.
