Chamber Passed·7/30/25
Introduced Text

Provides a one-time opportunity for teachers to participate in the alternative superannuation retirement benefit program.

This bill amends the definition of "Teacher" in the General Laws to include those who participated in the alternative superannuation retirement benefit program. It grants eligible teachers a one-time opportunity to elect participation in this program. Members who were previously employed by the executive office of education or the department of elementary and secondary education and are now reinstated in the teachers’ retirement system or the Boston retirement system will not be deemed to have had an interruption of membership or service.
