Relative to telehealth parity for nutrition counseling

Introduced·7/31/25
Introduced Text

Establishes parity in payment rates for telehealth and in-person nutrition counseling services in Massachusetts.

The bill amends Massachusetts General Laws to ensure that payment rates for telehealth services, including nutrition counseling delivered via interactive audio-video technology and audio-only telephone, are no less than those for in-person services. This applies to providers of behavioral health services and medical nutrition therapy, defined as nutrition care services provided by licensed dietitians/nutritionists for disease prevention, delay, management, or treatment.
