Relative to consumer deductibles

Introduced·7/31/25
Introduced Text

Massachusetts H4333 amends consumer deductibles for health insurance plans.

Massachusetts H4333 modifies how insurers calculate consumer deductibles for health insurance plans. It requires insurers to include all cost-sharing amounts paid by the enrollee or on their behalf when calculating an enrollee's contribution to any applicable cost-sharing requirement. The bill also mandates that insurers apply these cost-sharing amounts in full at the time they are rendered and towards the enrollee's out-of-pocket costs, deductible, cost-sharing, or similar obligations. The changes apply to health plans entered into, amended, extended, or renewed on or after January 1, 2026.
