Allows eligible part-time employees in public higher education to re-elect membership in the state retirement system.
This bill amends Chapter 15A to allow eligible part-time employees who were in the optional retirement program as of July 1, 2016, and who transitioned to full-time employment before October 1, 2016, to re-elect membership in the state employees' retirement system. It also permits these employees to purchase their prior employment as creditable service, subject to payment terms set by the state retirement board.
