Authorizes the town of Fairhaven to appoint retired police officers as special police officers.

The bill allows the town of Fairhaven to appoint retired police officers as special police officers for police details or other duties. These officers must have been regular Fairhaven police officers and retired based on superannuation. They cannot be appointed if they have been retired for more than 5 years. Special police officers must pass a medical examination and comply with training requirements. They are not subject to certain laws and are ineligible for benefits. Their appointment is for an indefinite term, subject to removal by the chief of police with 14 days written notice.
