Ensuring access and continuity of care to specialist and hospital services for dually eligible individuals

Introduced·5/29/25
Introduced Text

Ensures dually eligible individuals can access specialist and hospital services for 12 months after contract termination.

Massachusetts H4226 amends Chapter 118E to ensure dually eligible individuals can access specialist and hospital care for 12 months after a contract termination. If a provider's contract with a health plan ends, the provider must still serve these individuals under the previous contract terms. Reimbursement will be at Medicare or MassHealth rates unless a new agreement is made. This ensures continuity of care for vulnerable members.
