Establishes minimum salaries for teachers and education support professionals in Massachusetts.
This bill amends Chapter 71 of the General Laws to set minimum salaries for teachers and education support professionals. Starting from September 1, 2029, and every five years thereafter, the compensation for teachers must be at least $65,000 and for education support professionals at least $45,000. The executive office of labor and workforce development will calculate these rates based on inflation. School districts and educational collaboratives will be reimbursed by the state for the cost increases incurred by these salary adjustments.
