Supports parents in recovery from substance use disorder and enhances child welfare by setting objective standards for increased parenting time and.

The bill mandates that the Department of Children and Families include objective standards in action plans for parents with substance use disorder to increase their parenting time. It allows parents to direct the creation of their action plans and requires the department to list available resources. The bill also permits family counseling after a parent has maintained recovery for at least six months, if appropriate and in the best interests of the child.
