Requires broker fees in Somerville to be paid by the party who solicits a licensed broker.

The bill mandates that in the city of Somerville, broker fees must be paid by the party who solicits a licensed broker. This applies to individuals licensed under sections 87PP to 87DDD1/2 of chapter 112 of the General Laws, who may contract with a prospective tenant to find rental property and negotiate on their behalf. The fee is to be paid by the party, either lessor or tenant, who originally engaged the broker. This act takes effect upon its passage.
