The bill establishes a recall procedure for elective town offices in the town of Monterey. Thirty registered voters can initiate a recall by signing an affidavit with the grounds for recall. If the affidavit is verified, the Town Clerk provides blank petition sheets. The petition must be signed by at least 15% of registered voters and filed within 21 days. The Select Board sets the election date between 64 and 90 days after receiving the petition, or postpones it if another town election is scheduled. The incumbent continues duties until the election.
