Massachusetts H3902 allows the town of Stoughton to exempt all police officers, excluding the Chief of Police, from civil service. This exemption applies to all ranks and is effective from the date of the Annual Town Meeting vote on May 8, 2024. The act does not affect the current civil service status of existing officers.
