The bill establishes the Massachusetts Public Safety Building Authority, an independent public instrumentality, to oversee a public safety building assistance program. The authority will provide state assistance for the new construction, renovation, or remodeling of police stations, fire stations, and other public safety facilities. The authority will consist of the state treasurer, the secretary of administration and finance, the secretary of the executive office of public safety and security, and four additional members appointed by the state treasurer.
