Allows MassDOT vehicles to use red lights for safety when responding to emergencies.
This bill amends the Massachusetts General Laws to allow vehicles owned or operated by the Massachusetts Department of Transportation to use flashing, rotating, or oscillating red lights when responding to emergencies. This applies when the vehicle is responding to a fire or alarm, or when the official duty of the operator requires it. The red lights are not permitted for use at any other time.
