Massachusetts H3568 prohibits public utility and ratepayer funding of clearcutting forests and woodlands.

Massachusetts H3568 mandates the Department of Energy Resources and Department of Public Utilities to amend rules and regulations to prohibit funding for solar facilities that clearcut forests and woodlands. The prohibition applies to solar facilities that have not received approval from the Department before January 1, 2025, and have a nameplate capacity of 500kW or more. Exceptions include facilities on previously developed land, brownfields, and eligible landfills.
