H3513

To ensure notice to abutter communities of applications to the department of public utilities

Introduced·2/27/25
Introduced Text

Massachusetts H3513 mandates notification to host and abutting communities about utility project applications.

Massachusetts H3513 amends Chapter 25 of the General Laws to require applicants for permits from the Department of Public Utilities to notify the host community and all abutting cities and towns within 30 days of filing the application. The notice must include the applicant's details and information on public participation in hearings. Applicants must also appear at public hearings requested by host or abutting communities to describe the proposed project. Failure to appear can result in the Department granting intervenor status to excluded entities.
