Massachusetts H3211 requires certain counties to retain a percentage of deeds excise receipts for county operations.
Massachusetts H3211 amends Chapter 64D of the General Laws to require the counties of Bristol, Dukes, Nantucket, Norfolk, and Plymouth to retain 20 percent of all deeds excise receipts received on or after July 1, 2025. Barnstable County is required to retain 7.5 percent of such receipts. These funds must be deposited into the General Fund of the respective counties and can be used for operational and maintenance costs or retained for future use.
