Massachusetts H3204 allows cities and towns to reduce real property taxes for grandparents raising grandchildren.

Massachusetts H3204 authorizes cities and towns to reduce real property taxes for grandparents raising grandchildren. The reduction cannot exceed $1,000 per child per tax year. Cities and towns must maintain records of the tax reductions and provide copies to the assessor and the taxpayer. The bill allows local governments to create rules for implementing the tax reduction, subject to their charters.
