Introduced Text

Massachusetts H2873 provides creditable service for certain teachers for retirement purposes.

Massachusetts H2873 amends the General Laws to allow creditable service for teachers who lost their jobs due to a reduction in force and were subsequently employed as teachers in any governmental unit. This creditable service applies to periods of unemployment and is determined proportionately by the board. The maximum creditable service allowed is four years, and teachers must have completed 10 or more years of membership service to qualify.
