This bill amends the state's retirement system to allow Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) police officers to count their service years towards retirement eligibility if they later join another public law enforcement agency. The officer must contribute to the retirement system the amount they would have paid if they had been an active member of the other agency, plus interest.
