Relative to vacation time for employees of the Commonwealth who are veterans

Introduced·2/27/25
Introduced Text

Amends Massachusetts law to credit vacation time for Commonwealth employees who are veterans based on purchased creditable service time.

This bill amends Massachusetts law to ensure that Commonwealth employees who are veterans receive credit for purchased creditable service time when determining their vacation time rate. Specifically, if a veteran employee purchases creditable service time, the retirement board must notify the appropriate human resources or personnel administrator, who will then credit the employee's service time for vacation purposes.
