H2673

Relative to loaning personal property

Introduced·2/27/25
Introduced Text

Massachusetts H2673 amends firearm transaction reporting requirements, exempting loans to licensed or exempted persons for less than a year.

Massachusetts H2673 modifies the reporting requirements for firearm transactions within the state. It exempts loans of firearms to duly licensed or exempted individuals for periods shorter than one year from the mandatory reporting process. All other firearm transactions, including purchases, sales, rentals, leases, or other transfers, must still be reported via the electronic firearms registration system within seven days of the transaction. This bill aims to streamline reporting processes while maintaining oversight for longer-term firearm transfers.
