H2611

Relative to firearm licensing renewals during a state of emergency

Introduced·2/27/25
Introduced Text

Extends validity of firearm licenses during state emergencies when police cannot process renewals.

Massachusetts H2611 extends the validity of firearm licenses during a state of emergency when police departments cannot process renewals. Expired or expiring licenses during such emergencies remain valid until processed or denied. This does not affect the Chief of Police's authority to revoke a firearms license if circumstances warrant it.
